Ross is a globally recognised ESG and HSSE strategist with more than 25 years of experience advancing sustainability, safety, and social impact across mining, energy, and infrastructure portfolios in over 30 countries.
As Founder of Verdensure Inc., Ross advises corporates, investors, and development partners on embedding ESG and SDG principles into governance, disclosure, and operational systems that build long-term credibility. His work helps organisations turn sustainability ambition into credible action—aligning ESG integrity, stakeholder trust, and nature-positive growth.
Previously, Ross served as Global HSSE Manager for Shell’s Nature-Based Solutions division, where he established the company’s first global HSSE framework for carbon and biodiversity projects. He embedded IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and SDG safeguards across more than 40 initiatives.
He has also held senior consulting roles at Imperative Global, ERM, WSP, and Stantec, leading ESG and social performance projects for multinational clients. Over his career, Ross has influenced sustainability policy and practice through research, mentoring, and executive advisory roles.
With deep expertise in safety leadership, due diligence, and incident prevention, Ross has overseen more than 70 major projects worldwide. He has delivered frameworks aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and developed a global “Culture of Care” programme that strengthened resilience and accountability across international teams.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Ross brings a global perspective and collaborative mindset to advancing ESG governance, nature-positive transformation, and safety excellence within the GAA network.
