Flora Advisory - Strengthening Investment Decisions Through Independent Sustainability Advice

Flora Advisory

Flora Advisory was founded to address a challenge many investors face: how to integrate sustainability into investment decisions without losing focus on fiduciary responsibility, governance discipline, and long-term value creation.

The firm was established by Anna-Stina Wiklund after more than two decades working in institutional investment and sustainable finance.

Before founding Flora Advisory, she held senior roles in asset management and served as Head of Responsible Investment for a European pension institution, working closely with boards and investment committees on sustainable investment policy development, stewardship practices, and regulatory readiness.

This background continues to shape the firm’s practical and decision-focused approach.

“I focus on turning complex sustainability requirements into practical solutions that help organisations solve real challenges and move forward with clarity”

Based in Spain and operating internationally, Flora Advisory supports foundations, family offices, and institutional investors seeking structured and independent sustainability advice. The firm works across English, Swedish, Finnish, Spanish, and French, supporting clients across Northern Europe, Southern Europe, and international investment markets.

Engagements typically focus on strengthening governance and decision-making, including sustainable investment policy development, SFDR implementation and regulatory readiness, supplier code of conduct development, and executive and board-level training. This often involves supporting organisations in translating regulatory expectations into operational policies, governance processes, and practical tools used by investment teams and suppliers.

What distinguishes Flora Advisory is its deliberate positioning. The firm does not aim to be a broad ESG implementation provider. Instead, its work centres on governance and decision-making - helping boards and investment committees understand what matters, why it matters, and how to act with clarity and confidence.

“I focus on turning complex sustainability requirements into practical solutions that help organisations solve real challenges and move forward with clarity,” Anna-Stina explains.

"Participation in GAA reflects a belief that today’s sustainability challenges require both deep expertise and trusted collaboration. While Flora Advisory maintains its independence, the alliance provides access to complementary capabilities and geographic reach that strengthen the value delivered to clients."

This practical orientation reflects the firm’s core philosophy: sustainability advice should support real decisions and meaningful change, not simply produce documentation.

Clients typically value independence, structured thinking, and a long-term perspective. The work is grounded in practical institutional experience, translating complex sustainability and regulatory developments into decision-useful insights that strengthen oversight and support long-term value creation.

Alongside its independent advisory work, Flora Advisory is part of the Global Advisory Alliance (GAA), a network of specialists across sustainability, governance, and strategy. Participation in GAA reflects a belief that today’s sustainability challenges require both deep expertise and trusted collaboration. While Flora Advisory maintains its independence, the alliance provides access to complementary capabilities and geographic reach that strengthen the value delivered to clients.

Flora Advisory’s direction remains consistent: to support investors in making better decisions - decisions that strengthen governance, improve oversight, and support long-term value creation.” says Anna-Stina.
