With nearly two decades of experience across sustainable finance, investor stewardship, corporate governance, strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, Catherine works with institutional investors and financial market participants on stewardship strategies and effectiveness, transition planning and governance.

Her work combines academic research, policy analysis and practical experience in the investment industry, with a particular focus on how investors can use stewardship to support corporate and economic transformation.

From 2021 to 2025, Catherine was Senior Researcher at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), focusing on climate finance, climate policy and sustainable finance regulation. She served as Senior Adviser supporting financing strategies for industrial decarbonization and sector transition plans.

Catherine holds a doctorate from the Technical University of Darmstadt, where she researched shareholder engagement and global governance. She has been a lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management since 2022, teaching sustainable finance regulation, taxonomies and stewardship. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles in marketing and communication at LRI Group, Aquila Capital and KBC Asset Management.

Catherine is a Deputy Chief Executive Officer at StePs - the Association of Stewardship Professionals, member of the German Think Tank of Corporate Responsibility Interface Center (cric) and has served on the jury of the Sustainable Finance Awards in Germany since 2022. Earlier in her career, she contributed to the Sustainable Finance Research Platform, funded by the Mercator Foundation.
