With two decades of financial services experience, Rebecca Self advises clients on sustainable finance, disclosure, and the integration of ESG into corporate and investment decision-making. She is co-founder of Seawolf Sustainability Consulting, a Dutch-based firm providing independent advice, training, and research on climate finance and sustainability.
Previously, Rebecca was Director of Sustainable Finance at South Pole, leading projects across climate finance and advisory. Earlier, she held senior roles in London and Zurich covering investor relations, risk management, finance, and post-financial crisis regulatory reform. In 2017, she became the first Chief Financial Officer of Sustainable Finance at HSBC Holdings plc.
Rebecca holds a BSc in Economics and Politics, a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge, and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant. She has served as Board Member at the ICAEW Financial Services faculty and as Deputy Chair of the Trustee Board and Chair of the Risk & Audit Committee at the University of Southampton Students’ Union.
